Rotherham United Community Trust

Wonderful to be back with Rotherham United Community Trust.

Always good to work with familiar faces who we have been with over the past couple of years, but a few new one’s too.

We also branched out to a new venue at Parkgate Astro. We gave an opportunity to our volunteer Denis to take the lead and demonstrate the skills he has been building up over the last 6 months of training.

Once again thanks to Jonny for inviting us to support and all the young people from the Trust who deserve credit for their role in delivering the much needed HAF programme in Rotherham.

Eve’s Trust Legends 2023

Last year we attended the Evestrust Legends game and had a really awesome family day out. This year thanks to the support of my family and friends I dusted off my boots and played alongside other fundraisers and club legends from Doncaster Rovers and Liverpool.

We won the game 8 – 6 and I was proud to raise around a thousand pound for Evestrust, a cancer support charity in Doncaster. Big respect to all the ex pro’s who attended including Akinfenwa, according to FIFA, the strongest footballer in the world pictured below.

He was living his dream of playing in a Liverpool shirt and managed to get a powerful header into the roof of the net.

For me getting involved in a couple of our goals and sharing it with my family was a truly wonderful experience, there are too many people to thank, so I thank you all

It was a nice touch to meet Razor Ruddock, all the ex pro’s were fantastic, signing autographs and giving time to the young people watching. But the real hero’s of the day were the fundraisers below.

The event raised thousands for the charity and winning the game was the icing on the cake.

Active Fusion Easter Camp

Truly wonderful work from all the young people this week. As we had many returning to camp we were able to push their skills further as we got into some proper music production.

We used microphones and recorded performances as we developed a hip hop track using the DefJam principles to end up with an authentic Rick Rubin style production.

I have to respect the young people who remember the building blocks of the early sessions, they have really shown this week how much they have absorbed.
